The WoodChopper's Association along with; Sam Turton, Neesa Kenemy & co.,
Jason Kenemy, Sam Cino, Dave Keogh, Peter and Nancy Evans, Tannis Slimmon,
Mike Murphy, Michael Johnston, Phil Allt, AIMT Toronto,
Doug Larson, Dave Teichroeb band, J.P. Melville, Cathy Melville, Ellen Beeken,
Matt james, Hannah Zbitnew, Anne Zbitnew, Michael Griffin, Dee Jones, Joe Lapinski,
Ellis Berman, Al Piggins, Daniel Fischlin, Martha Nandorfy, Friendly Rich and the Lollipop People,
Colin Puffer and the Tranzac presented an afternoon of art, information and participation
on March 17th at the Tranzac Club in Toronto, Canada.
It was a grand success in showing the spirit of community and cooperation
towards creating a political statement that transcends party politics and reaches
to the heart of the matter with folks of all ages, this being that;
Canadians are by and large peaceful and kind people and we want no part of war in our time.

Afghanistan.... On Guard For Thee???
Recent News
About Afghanistan...On Guard For Thee
The recent shift in the nature of Canada's military activity in the world
is a cause for concern. I'm sure many of you agree that it is very
disturbing to know that Canadian troops are both killing and being killed.
Why is this happening? Is this the best way for us to deal with the
problems in Afghanistan and elsewhere--especially when the military actions are beginning to imperil the ability to deliver meaningful aid to the country?
We must speak out about this issue. Silence is quiet complicity.
As artists we are free to give voice to ideas and feelings that many others
are unable to express, either for political reasons, or because they do not
know how. The 51 songs on "Afghanistan...On Guard For Thee" mark a significant collection of new songs in the tradition of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger. The styles are diverse, ranging from rock, to roots, folk, country, and pop. The quality of the music is superb, heartfelt, and honest. The songs reflect perspectives ranging from biting satire to sad, humanistic reflections; together they mirror the soul of Canadians..
All proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders, Red Cross International, and the Developing Countries Farm Radio Network.. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to participate in this project..
Sincerely,
Lewis Melville
